SNPP

SNPP (Simple Network Paging Protocol) is a TCP/IP based protocol for paging via the Internet. This protocol is relatively new, so it is supported by only a handful of paging service providers. Check with your service provider to see if they have implemented SNPP.

SNPP Requires an Internet connection accessible through a Winsock installed on the computer on which the PageMaster/ex connector is running. The following properties are required when using this protocol, and are detailed below:

ADDRESS The IP Address or Domain Name for the SNPP Server
PORT The port number through which the SNPP server is accessed

The ADDRESS property contains either an IP address or a domain name used to access the SNPP server (i.e. "snpp.skytel.com"). The PORT property specifies the port number used by the SNPP server.

If your Internet connection is through a firewall, it is important that a hole be created in the firewall to allow the data to pass through the port in both directions.
